You are witness to a very strange occurrence. This is the first mixed marriage of the monochromatic venture capitalists with the wide spectrum prism tribe. The groom (name unpronounceable) has just married the love of his life: Henretta. She has brought needed color into his life. His sister, again an unpronounceable name, is his bride's maid of honor. The groom's best man is an old college buddy, who is also a funeral director. The twins are his buddy's two, twin, sons, who shared the job of ring bearer. The flower girl is Henretta's hair dresser's daughter, a sweet young thing. The two love birds met at a resort in the town where Henretta lives. She was a hostess at the resort. She had her minister perform the ceremony. The minister is from a far away land where the inhabitants breath using folds in their necks. They also have wonderful, lyrical speaking voices and are very spiritual. Where will the young couple settle? What will their progeny look like? Who is paying for all this? Inquiring minds need to know. I recently had the great honor of photographing the union of two of my creations. As you can see from the pictures it was quite the evening. Thanks so much to Brenda for putting together these love birds and translating the wedding story for us!

Final bid 672 credits. This card is going to Washington state. So I wanted to do something for April Fools day, but I didn't want to do anything that took away from the auction. I asked some friends on facebook if they had any ideas and I got a number of really good ones. I didn't want to have to go get something for the fool so I decided on this. Today was supposed to be a new card style day. No more ink. So I painted the creature card on the right. Then I decided to draw an ink version of the same creature. I posted the auction as an April Fools card and then listed the ink. I put in the post that something would change tomorrow. I got sidetracked and didn't get to posting about the added actual watercolor card until about 12:40am. I couldn't do the blog that day or it might spoil the surprise. I was concerned that the hype would be bigger then the actual surprise. I'm also not sure if anyone else got why it was a fool other than me lol but I enjoyed it.
Switching mediums is a bit tricky. Ink and watercolor are completely different as well. I find myself wanting to make dots :) Final bid 747 credits. This card went to Washington state. I'm trying to think of something interesting to tell you about today's card. I started with the bottom leaf 180 degrees from this position. It's original intent was to be an eye. It worked its way into a leaf and then the stem came. The second leaf was made and the stem. Then I started working on the creature to attach it to. I wasn't sure which direction was the most interesting. This one looked pretty cool crawling on a ceiling or wall. Strangely, afterwards I did go to the store and buy some plants. I've been getting a lot of plants lately. I really love plants. They bring so much life into a space.
This is the last ink of the month. I think I'm going to start with watercolor tomorrow. And probably pencil or pen for the detailing. Not sure about that yet. I figure i'll just do the first card and whatever I want to do on it will be what I hold for the month. :) I like doing small runs of a type. That way there are miniature moments where I can feel accomplished. Another month down... 9 more to go lol. Thanks for dropping by. Have a fabulous weekend! Final bid 1510 credits. This card is going to California. I showed Ashley the girl and her reply was that she didn't have a mouth. I asked her if she needed a mouth. She thought for a moment and then said "It's an alligator." I started this drawing with the "Teeth" like area of the alligator and worked my way to the right with the exception of ending with the tongue. I thought the mouth area looked like it could be a really cool hat. I'm not sure if I was able to convey what I saw in this card in both versions. My camera had a fit about the pictures I took first so I had to re-shoot. I need to take it out of the sleeve and photograph it again. For now these should work fine.
Final bid 665 credits. This card is going to New Mexico! I started this card inspired by the Tyrannosaurus Rex eye from the cover of my dinosaur book that I draw on. After that I asked Ash what it should be. She said a fish. I tried to make it look like a fish but it wanted to be this creature instead. Ash says it still looks like a jelly fish, which I can also see. I see something completely different, but that is half the fun for me! The weather was really nasty out today so I opted for a day in, nothing too exciting to report on my side. My friend, however, has had a wonderful day! Praise the Lord! She has been offered three jobs all today! I'm just praying the apartment works out as well. I'll get an update soon. Tonight we are going to play monopoly. It will be Ash's first game of Monopoly!
Final bid 505 credits. This card stays in Oregon. Today was overall a good day. I had a fabulous surprise and evening visit from a friend that was wonderful. This card... this card. There are certain things I want to say about it... but I've been told when you want to reveal things you think are faults that is a good time to just keep it to yourself and see what happens. So I think I'll go with that tonight. Thanks for stopping by!
Final bid 1610 credits. This card is going to Minnesota. Name: Courage "Hello, I'm just sitting here, taking a small break, in my safe place where I can see all, but no one can see me. This place lets me recharge and gather courage to get back out there and live life. Sometimes easier said than done! But the effort is always repaid in the most wonderful ways!"" I starting this drawing 180 degrees from here. I was inspired by my daughters new pet rat's super cute little ears, but as usual what I start with is not what it ends up being. I haven't made much furry creatures with the ink but this one seemed to want to be a hairy. I was worried it would turn into a scary mad monkey, thankfully it stayed cute.
Today was a good day. Visited with my parents, got some more unpacking out of the way, made muffins and ate them all (well I shared them with the family.) Final bid 1015 credits. This card is going to Washington state. Today there was a line on the card from something... maybe brownie, or charcoal. That line became the mouth line for this little creature. Right when I was about to take the picture for this character the shelf in my bedroom closet gave out and everything came crashing to the ground. Unfortunately I had moved my art to that shelf and it was all pilled on the ground. Something like 6 glass fronts broke, and a few of the acrylics are scratched up badly. Thankfully no one was hurt. I'm feeling encouraged to hand the art up in the hallway instead... those that can be hung up lol. I'm thinking it might be better to give up some of the clothes that don't fit instead of trying to keep them. They are pretty heavy in the end. I'm thinking it might be better to give up the items then find creative ways to keep them. I'll be getting some of those space bags in the mail. I'll try those out and then buckle down on the rest of it. Perhaps I was feeling small today.
Final bid 365 credits. This card will be going to California. So my mom says the free association cards speak for my subconscious. I was in a lot of pain today. I slept in most of the morning and managed the rest of the day decently. I didn't get started on the drawing until it had basically been managed and not in the forefront of my mind. I think I might see some potential subconscious displays of that in the image but I think it's wonderfully up for discussion.
Final bid 336 credits. This card is also going to Indiana. Named "Alto Kas Meer The 1st Duke of Listian." Hmmm.... I'm trying to remember today. Something inspired me to do a mustache. So I started there. I did the chin area after tat and moved up to the head. This card didn't change from one thing to another , it just seemed to want to do it's own thing. I like days that take charge. Maybe it's the extra sleep I got.
